What time zone are you living in?

06.29.21

One trick I’ve learned recently to help reframe my mindset is: “What time zone am I living in right now? The past? The future? or the Present?”

It’s all to easy to get sucked into the worries of past mistakes or things that have already happened, the worries of what may or may not happen in the future. But ask this simple question to make sure you come back to living in the Present time zone. For me being present means I’m remembering to enjoy the current moment, in which there usually is nothing truly wrong. I’m safe, I’m loved, I’m healthy, my family is healthy, etc. For me, being present brings me back to the small things that truly make up a beautiful life… smelling my 2 month old’s round baby head, stroking his soft baby skin and squeezing his plump baby thighs, or looking into my toddler’s eyes and seeing her beautiful spirit and hoping she knows just how much I love her and how unconditional that love is. Or simply enjoying the warm summer sun on my skin or the joy of biting into a perfectly ripe summer peach. It’s all so beautiful if we can only remember to always stay in the right time zone — the Present. So remember to always ask yourself which time zone are you living in?
